Somerfords' Home and School Association (SHASA) is the Parent Teacher Association for Somerfords’ Walter Powell Primary School and Pre-School in Great Somerford near Chippenham. We support our wonderful small rural school by raising funds to enhance, enrich and improve the learning experience for every child.
Our Sponsored Bunny Run takes place at school on 18th March at 2:40pm. Children will be bringing home a bandana to decorate and wear on the day. Join us afterwards at the SHASA cake sale!
Our current fundraising priorities are to help cover coach travel for educational trips, provide headphones to complement the iPads previously funded by SHASA, and strengthen music provision through new percussion instruments and specialist music days.
The new and improved Walter Powell School library is now complete! Thanks to SHASA and our wonderful community, the fundraising goal has been reached, enhancing the space with new books, furniture and cosy touches for children from Pre-School to Year 6.

The children enjoyed wonderful festive events over the Christmas period. SHASA provided Christmas crackers and other treats for their Christmas lunch and funded the coach to the pantomime.

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a generous £1,000 grant by Malmesbury Carnival. We thank the team that works so hard to put on this fantastic event every year. The grant is a great step towards our fundraising goal to improve our school library.
